John Robert Beckham, Sr.

WAYNE CRENSHAW Mr. Beckham, 81, of Philadelphia, died Monday, February 20, 2012 at his residence. He was a native and longtime resident of the Longino Community of Neshoba County.  He retired from the Mississippi Public Service Commission as a Motor Carrier Inspector and also served as an officer with the Philadelphia Police Department in the mid 70’s.  Mr. Beckham retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1972 after 21 years, serving during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.  He was a member of the Air Force Sergeant’s Association and a member of the American Legion.  Mr. Beckham was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, a member of the Eastern Star and a Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Beth Beckham.Survivors include one son, John Robert Beckham, Jr. and his wife, Andrea of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, John Robert Beckham, III, Alexandrea Marie Beckham, Luke Whisler Beckham and William Jackson Beckham; one sister, Betty Crenshaw and her husband, Wayne of Brandon; one brother-in-law, Thomas M. Luke, Sr. and his wife, Lillian of Philadelphia; and several nieces, nephews and their families.Pallbearers were John Robert Beckham, III, John Rogers, Sam Gray, Tommy Luke, Jonathan Luke and James Horne.
