RICHIE DAVISREV. JERRY JONES Mrs. Davis, 95, of DeKalb, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at MS Care Center of DeKalb. She was a lifelong resident of Kemper County.  She was a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church.  Mrs. Davis was a homemaker, who enjoyed working in the yard and gardening.  She loved to make quilts and crafts, and was a member of a homemaker’s club and the Red Hat Society club. Survivors include her son, Henry E. Davis (Modene) of DeKalb; two daughters, Melba Shumate (Lee) and Lennie Reed both of Meridian; daughter-in-law, Kaye Davis Johnson (Doug) of Philadelphia; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin E. Davis; son, Jack D. Davis; granddaughter, Kristi Kaye Davis; four brothers and her parents. Pallbearers will be Ray Davis, Adam Davis, Tanner Stovall, Scott Reed, Christopher Heimann and Billy Warsaw.  Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Davis, Billy Davis, Thad Davis, Kyle Davis, Derek Davis and John Shumate.
