CURT PACE Dr. James Neal Luke, 58, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. Dr. Luke was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County. He received a degree from Mississippi State University in Animal & Dairy Science and a degree from Auburn University in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Luke operated Luke Animal Clinic in Philadelphia and Union. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association. He was past president of the Philadelphia High School Band Booster Club. Survivors include his wife, Gayle Luke; daughters, Mary Lauren Luke and Melissa Ann Luke; mother, Ruth Luke; sister, Jan Goldman and her husband, Ricky; and nephew, Richard Goldman and his wife, Erin all of Philadelphia. Dr. Luke was preceded in death by his father, James Ray Luke in 2004.Serving as Pallbearers were Otto Rouse, Max Anderson, Bunkie Smith, Dr. Duane Stokes, Tom Henry and Kenny Joe Bankston.
