BRITT COOPER Owana Ladd, 79, born July 1, 1932 went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 13, 2011 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Mrs. Ladd was a native of Neshoba County. She worked at the hospital in Carthage, MS before moving to Jackson where she was employed as a bookkeeper at Jackson Wholesale Building Supply and retired after 40 years. Owana will mostly be remembered as a loving wife, a beloved mother to her son, Jerry, and a cherished friend. She was an avid doll collector enjoyed spending time with her son Jerry doing photography (beautiful work) and like a little girl truly loved her yearly family vacations to the mountains. She will surely be missed by everyone. Love, patience, kindness =Owana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Birtis Walton and Onie Walton and her husband, Howard Ladd. Survivors include one son, Jerry Lynn Ladd of Ridgeland; one half sister, Omega Hunter of Union; brothers-in-law, Ernest Ladd of Brandon, Billy Joe Ladd of Jackson and Sidney Ladd, Jr. of Flowood; sisters-in-law, Blonzell Brown of Decatur and Sarah Glascoe of Mobile AL and numerous nieces and nephews.
