She was born and reared in Neshoba County where she made her home most of her life.  Mrs. Strait was a member of Longino Baptist Church.   Survivors include her husband, Freeman Strait of Philadelphia; sons, Louis Coghlan and his wife, Bonnie of Philadelphia, Bill Coghlan of Philadelphia, Rick Coghlan and his wife, Cherie of Plant City, FL and Jimmy Strait and his wife, Selina of Philadelphia; step-daughter, Dale Roan of Ireland; step-sons, Jimmy Lay Strait of Dallas, TX, Don Strait of Dallas, TX, Henry Strait of Dallas, TX and Randy Strait of Royse City, TX; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Percy Barrett of Philadelphia and a host of nieces and nephews.
