DAVID RICHARDSONMrs. Guin, 84, of Starkville, MS, died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Northeast Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a native of the House Community in Neshoba County and lived in Starkville for the past 20 years. She was a wife and mother first, but owned a beauty shop next to her home while rearing her children. Mrs. Guin was a member of First Baptist Church in Columbus. Survivors include daughter, Dr. Linda Guin of Starkville; sons, Hughdolf (Elvie) Guin, Jr. of Columbus and Boyce Warren (Mary) Guin of Starkville; granddaughters; Amy (Chip) Lemonds of Columbus and Paige (Cody) Guthrie of Nashville, TN; great-granddaughters, Katelyn Lemonds and Allison Lemonds of Columbus; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Warren Cosby of Lake and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Hughdolf "Buck" Guin, Sr. of Starkville; her parents, Earl and Effie Page Warren of House; her sisters, Arlie D. Moore of Jackson, Myrtle Sullivan of Pascagoula, Frances Thomas of Morton and one brother, Delbert Warren of Newton. The family would like to thank the following for their excellent care: Oktibbeha Regional Medical Care and staff, especially Dr. Everett McKibben; the Tupelo Medical Group and Dr. Ricky Parker; Dr. Max Taylor and Dr. Robert McAulty of the Northeast Medical Center. The family would also like to thank Mrs. Minne Lindsey for her nursing care of both parents for the past six years.
