WAYNE HILL Lucy  Marshall Hays, 91, passed away on June 18, 2011 at Briar Hill Rest Home in Florence, MS. She was born February 24, 1920 in Kemper County MS and lived most of her life in Philadelphia where she raised her children after the untimely death of her husband. RB.  Later she married Clifton Hays and they shared 30 years before his death.  Lucy was a great gardener and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She loved her cabin at the Neshoba County Fair grounds and was there most weekends as long as her health permitted.  She attended the Marshall Family Reunion just one week before her passing.  Mrs. Hays was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church.   Survivors include daughters, Sara Cumberland, Florence, MS, Jean Marshall, Philadelphia, MS and Peggy McMichael (John), Clinton, MS; son, RB Marshall (Mary), Biloxi, MS ; grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey Cumberland (Becky), Scott Cumberland (Katie), Tammy Bostick, Melody Winston (Mike), Jimmy Blum (Jamie), Matthew Marshall and David McMichael (Nicole); great-grandchildren, Cory Cumberland, Amie Cumberland, Lynsey Cumberland, Jay Cumberland, Baylie Winston, Kaysie Winston, Dalton Marshall, Cammie Marshall, Mary Grace Winston, Cameron McMichael, Reese McMichael and Evelynn Jean Blum; a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.   Preceded in death by husbands, RB Marshall, Sr. and James Clifton Hays; parents, Edd and Cora Smith; five brothers and two sisters.  Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dr. Jeffrey Cumberland, Scott Cumberland, Jimmy Blum, Matthew Marshall, David McMichael, Mike Winston and great-grandson, Jay Cumberland.
