SHAYNE MARTIN Mr. Watkins, 63, died Friday, March 18, 2011 at his home. He was a native of Neshoba County and a resident of Madison County for several years before moving back to Neshoba County 18 years ago. He had been employed at Pearl River Resort for the past 10 years and formerly worked as a supervisor for United Parcel Service. Mr. Watkins was a member of Sandtown United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War in Thailand. Ronnie loved his lord and savior, Jesus Christ. He recognized that all good things were provided by him. Ronnie approached every day with great zeal and passion. He loved his children, never missed a chance to have a laugh, embraced spending time with his family and going fishing on a beautiful sunny day. Ronnie had the amazing skill to pack so much into his short time with us. His kind words and genuine heart were felt by too many to count. Survivors include his daughters, Hannah Elizabeth Watkins and Sarah Kathryn Watkins both of Philadelphia; step-son, John Chandler Vines of Philadelphia; sisters, Virginia Hodges and her husband, Randy of Ridgeland and Wonna Files and her husband, Ronnie of Philadelphia; brother, Randy Watkins and his wife, Annette of Philadelphia; uncle, Shelton "Buck" Bounds of Philadelphia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hilda Virginia Boyd; father, Aubern Watkins; step-father, J B Boyd; and infant son, Aubern Watkins.
