DAN HOWARD Kate Ray was born and reared in Union and made her home in Jackson most of her adult life.  She lived in Philadelphia for several years and had been a resident of Holiday Island, Arkansas for the past five years.  Mrs. Ray was a member of First Baptist Church in Philadelphia and Order of the Eastern Star Philadelphia Chapter 91.   Survivors include her son, Jimmy W. Ray, Jr. and his wife, Claudine of Holiday Island, AR; grandsons, Johnny Ray of La Porte, TX, James Ray of Roswell, GA, and Jeff Ray of Livingston, LA; sisters, Ethel Lundy of Philadelphia and Martha Smith of Greenville, SC; and brother, George Saxon of Philadelphia.   Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray, Sr.
