George Keene

SHARP Mr. George Keene, 94, died Friday, January 21, 2011 at Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko.   He was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County.  Mr. Keene was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church.  He was a veteran of World War  II where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Purple Heart (with one oak leaf cluster) and the Bronze Star.  He was a member of American Disabled Veterans.   Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Annie Ruth Keene and his son, Randy Keene, both of Union; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Vicki Keene of Little Rock, MS; two sisters, Lola Addy of Decatur and Naomi Nicholson of Tennessee and one brother, G. B. Keene of Union.   He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Keene and a number of brothers and sisters.
