BOBBY JOE BUTLER  Mr. Hailey, 82, of Preston, died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Jackson.   He was a native of the Gholson Community of Noxubee County and a long time resident of the Preston Community of Kemper County.  He was a retired dealer of farm implements and a cattle farmer.  Mr. Hailey was a member of Pleasant Springs Presbyterian Church.  He was a member of Hamasa Shrine in Meridian and a lifetime member of Summerville Masonic Lodge.  He was a member of the Kemper County Democratic Executive Committee and served as state senator for Kemper/Winston from 1956-60.  He served for 20 years on East Mississippi Community College Board and had served as senior vice-president of East Mississippi Livestock Association since its founding.  Mr. Hailey was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force stationed in Wilmington, Delaware during the Korean Conflict.  He was listed in Who's Who Among American Businessmen.   Survivors include his daughter, Janie Hailey-Tarlton and her husband, John of Preston; and five grandchildren, Bo, Tommy, Wyatt, Charlie, and Hailey Tarlton all of Preston.   Memorials may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital.
