A graveside service for Mrs. Anita Mooney Rahaim will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 3 p.m. from Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel, MS, with Dr. Dan Howard officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home in Philadelphia, MS, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Rahaim, 90, of Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 22, 2018, in the presence of family. She was born and reared in the Williamsville Community of Neshoba County, MS. Most of her adult life she made her home in Laurel, MS, where she worked for Bell South Telephone Company for many years before retiring. Mrs. Rahaim was a member of First Baptist Church in Philadelphia, MS. Her love for the Lord was exemplified in the way she lived her life. She was such a lovely lady who charmed everyone with her grace and beauty. Lipstick, makeup, nail polish, and jewelry were a must at all times. The Rahaim family thought of her as the spice of their family gatherings. She had a way of making you feel special, although she was the special one. To know her was to love her, and she was dearly loved by her family and friends. Survivors include her sister, Lavinia M. Nowell (Barney) of Philadelphia, MS; brother, James M. Mooney (Shirley) of Philadelphia, MS; sister-in-law, Susie Mooney of Philadelphia, MS; brothers-in-law, Shelton “Buck” Bounds of Philadelphia, MS, Kaleel Rahaim of Oxford, MS, and George Rahaim (Janine) of Orlando, FL; a host of very special nieces, nephews, and their families; and her extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deeb Rahaim, “the love of her life”; parents, Lina B and Herbert G. Mooney, Sr.; sister, Barbara M. Bounds; and brothers, Herbert G. Mooney, Jr., and John P. Mooney, Sr.Pallbearers are Guy Nowell, Greg Nowell, Mark Bounds, Bruce Bounds, C. Scott Bounds, Brad Bounds, Patrick Mooney, Mark McKay and Dr. David Sudbrink.The family would like to thank all of those who loved and cared for her over the past year, especially Dr. Todd Willis and the staff of Neshoba County General Hospital/Nursing Home, whose hearts she touched in a special way.
