DAVID JAYGerald Maxwell Alawine, born September 13, 1934, left this world on June 18, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  After many years of farming, he enlisted in the service and served 10 years in the Air Force.  He also worked nearly two decades at Owen Brothers and another two decades at Delco Remy.  He retired only to build and run a public golf course, Arrowhead Golf Course.  He was a member of the American Legion, as well as Antioch Baptist Church.  His strong work ethic will be missed. Max is survived by his loving and caring wife, Janice Alawine; two sons, Michael and wife Trena Alawine, and Mitchell and wife Brenda Alawine.  He had three grandchildren, Tony and wife Michelle Alawine, Shaun and wife Alicia Alawine, and Savannah Alawine; seven great-grandsons, Joshua, Justin, Samuel, Tyler, Jack, Cody and Ethan Alawine; and one sister, Tommie Frazier. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calebee and Sammie Alawine; brothers, William and Charles Alawine; and sister, Eldred Smith.
