CHRIS YOUNG Mr. Dan V. Mitchell, 62, of Philadelphia, died Friday, April 8, 2016, at Regency Hospital of  Meridian. He was a native and lifelong resident of Philadelphia/Neshoba County and a graduate of Philadelphia High School.  He received a B.S. degree from Mississippi State University in Business and Finance and played for the MSU Golf Team.  He worked as an insurance agent for 30 years, originally with Lamar Life and later with his father at Reliable Insurance Agency.  Mr. Mitchell was a member of Southside United Methodist Church where he sang in the church choir and loved his church family.  He was a longtime member of Philadelphia Country Club and MSU Alumni Association. Survivors include his daughters, Mandy Tolar (Jim) of Owensville, AR and Holly Mitchell (Dave) of Cape Girardeau, MO; son, Trey Mitchell (Sharon) of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughters, Harley Tolar, Phoenix Tolar and Gracie Lynn Tolar; mother, June Mitchell of Philadelphia; brothers, Ken Mitchell (Aletha) of Philadelphia and Joe Mitchell (Glenna K.) of Vinton, LA; niece, Dawn Arledge (Randy) of Philadelphia; nephews, Marty Mitchell of Philadelphia, Steven Mitchell and Mark Lee Mitchell, both of Vinton, LA; numerous great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Layla Tolar and his father, Clarence Mitchell.Pallbearers were Mitchell Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Dylan Thomas, Danny Anderson, William Latimer and Michael Ludwick.
