CHRIS YOUNGMrs. Mars, 47, of Philadelphia, died peacefully Monday, February 29, 2016, surrounded by family at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Philadelphia and Neshoba County. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Mississippi State and her Undergraduate Degree in Psychology from Ole Miss.  She had worked for Weems Community Mental Health Center for 25 years.  Mrs. Mars was a member of First United Methodist Church in Philadelphia.  She served on the City of Philadelphia School Board and was a very active member of the Philadelphia High School Booster Club.  She loved church activities, travel, Ole Miss sporting events and whatever activities her boys were involved in. Survivors include her husband, James Mars of Philadelphia; sons, Abe Mars of Philadelphia and Fent Mars of Philadelphia; stepdaughter, Mary Lea Mars Burkhalter (Cole) of Northport, Alabama; stepson, Sam Mars (Jillian) of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Griffin Mars, Della Burkhalter, Rowan Burkhalter and Landry Burkhalter; parents, Thomas and Joan Gamblin of Philadelphia; sister, Brandy Gamblin of Meridian; brother, Davis Gamblin (Robin) of Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Teddy Dyess, Alvin Kidd, Zachary Jones, Jonathan Ladner, Adam Huddleston, Bob Posey, Tom Turner and Cody Freeman.
