She was a native and longtime resident of Philadelphia.  She was formerly employed at The Neshoba Democrat and The Molpus Company pulpwood office.  She also served as Justice Court Clerk for several years.  Mrs. King was an active member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Jo Carol King of Philadelphia and Susanna Brooks (Hayes) of Starkville; sons, Phil King of Murfreesboro, TN (Sonya) and John King (Leslie) of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Garrett King, Ashleigh King, Cameron King, Keller King, Simmons Brooks and Fletcher Brooks; and sister, Nancy Brautigan of Stockbridge, GA. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband, Joe King; parents, Grady and Corinne Shumaker; and an infant brother, Gordon Shumaker.
