DAVE SANDERS Mr. Long, 74, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at his home. He was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County.  He joined the U.S. Army upon graduation from Philadelphia High School and served in posts the world over, including two tours in Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star among other citations of service.  He retired from the army as Master Sergeant (E-8) after 23 years of service.  He later retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for many years as a mail carrier.  Mr. Long was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church and a member of the National Rifle Association.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Bennie Earl Graham Long; his father, Jacob Franklin Long and brothers, Frankie Long and Roger Long. Survivors include his wife, Ann Long of Philadelphia; son, Scott Franklin Long of Weatherford, OK; step-sons, Wade (Kim) Massey of Vicksburg, Barry (Natalia) Massey of Philadelphia and Craig (Malia) Massey of Philadelphia; and grandchildren, Marlee Massey, Landon Massey, Landon Gage Porter, Brandon Smith, Christian Smith, Ryan Kilpatrick, Benjamin Lee Massey, Noah Massey, Jacob Massey, Garrett Massey, Brandy Gentry, Dustin Kilpatrick and one on the way.
